The way in which people attend and make use of tradeshows has changed little over the past 20 years. By making a simple change, it is AmbientExhibitors goal to help make change possible.
Firstly the software delivers greater amenity to the exhibitor. It makes "checking in" a potential customers very easy — the exhibitor simply taps their iPhone on the ID tag of the attendee. They can then make notes on the encounter, and easily retrieve a complete list of these later, as well as then exporting that list via email as a CSV file for use in a spreadsheet.
The data gathered through this process is very valuable. It enables instant "heatmaps" of activity on the tradeshow floor to be generated. By putting together the different paths that attendees follow, it will be possible to segment the target market. And by tracking the movement from stand to stand, an effective flow pattern of attendee traffic can be developed.
The current version of AmbientExhibitor is the first step on what we hope will eventually become a very useful open source project.
